Significance of name/number: Forensic science was my fave subject, also I’m constantly getting injured.

Significance of name/number: Name- it’s taken from the Fleur de Lis symbol for New Orleans and that I am a Level 5 Krav Maga student. Number- It’s the year both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died (also the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence) and my MA work was on them.

Derbyversary: January 12th, 2015. It was a little recruit night and I had absolutely no skating experience. It would become the first day of the rest of my life.

Why derby? I was immediately hooked by the variety of body types. Every body is valued and everyone is pushing themselves to new limits. Also, the camaraderie is like nothing else I’ve experienced. Sure we knock each other down sometimes, but we are always lifting each other up.

Why derby? Shortly after my second kiddo was born I needed something that was just mine. I needed to do something for myself. I had always loved the idea of derby so I finally dragged myself to a free skate. And the rest is history. 

Derby Nickname: Dave Growl
Significance of name/number: Dave Grohl is a huge inspiration for me, so yeah.
Derbyversary: I started officiating summer 2018.
Favorite Position: Although it can be challenging, my favorite officiating position is Inside Pack Referee. I like to say it’s the best seat in the house during a game because I get to see everything up close and personal.

Why derby? My spouse got me into it. I love helping to make this sport happen as a ref. Roller derby has become the family sport and I couldn’t ask for a better community of athletes to officiate with.
